how do they we follow expiring names? just by saving the whois record and following the record time to time? or is there any tool to follow that?

One of the issues that your post hints it, is that typo domains can be switched to redirect anywhere - within seconds - at any time.

You see, all the millions of typo domains that are currently routing to "harmless" and low EPC ppc landing pages, can switch to scarier and more profitable high EPC destinations such as scams like this, phishing schemes e.g. asking for your twitter password, and affiliate links for the brand that is being typo'd - essentially stealing profits from the brand.

These typo domains are all time-bombs waiting to happen - either carried out by the domain owner, someone who buys the domain from them, or someone new who comes along upon expiry/deletion.

If twitter had an affiliate program, I bet many of the current typo domains for twitter.com would switch over to it, in order to make even more money off their backs.

I just hope this won't be only some hoax, but Facebook would really develop such a great feature.

Nice work! Facebook certainly needs a better way for brands to connect with followers as the current fan page system is very weak.

On the twitter page there doesn't seem to be any option to add information like: "I also own the twitter app of this name, the domain name and facebook name". I have all of these and I assume this would lend weight to my claim.

It also assumes you're a company with a company address. I want the twitter handle for a thing I'm trying to get off the ground which isn't an actual company yet.

I had the same experience as the readers who mention that this process no longer works. The username I was pursuing was registered 6+ months ago and has never been active.

You can enter the case number to see the filing.

The name of the complainant isn't actually revealed until the ruling is issued.

Just a question... it's evident that the complaint comes from Microsoft, but I can't figure out how to access to the filing on the National Arbitration Forum and get that confirmation. For example, the complaints on Diablo-related website were filed by Vivendi and not by Activision
